I had the pleasure of shooting the Jim Beam Social 51 Pop Up at B&B Butchers off of Washington Avenue in Houston, TX last night. Our city is filled with parties and people for Super Bowl 51! It’s very exciting for us Houstonians. The city is so alive this week! Here are some of the shots I got last night. Stay tuned, I’ll be shooting at least three more events this weekend!
I started working as a photographer for SMJ Productions, who has a contract from UberEats. I get to go to amazing restaurants and food trucks all over Houston and photograph the dishes they plan to offer for delivery through UberEats. It’s a sweet gig!
I had the pleasure of photographing some amazing crepes and waffles at Coco Crepes, Waffles & Coffee in Rice Village yesterday. The food is not only beautifully plated, but delicious as well! They have three locations throughout Houston and you HAVE to check them out!
This is the White Chocolate Raspberry Crepe.
This was an overall shot I captured of all the dishes I got to photograph.

Around 6:45 Sunday night, my boyfriend’s phone went off, alerting us that a funnel cloud was spotted in League City, which is where we live. The funnel cloud was only about 2 miles from our house give or take.
Although it kind of freaked me out, I couldn’t help but want to go chase it. We waited a little too long, not leaving for another 40 minutes or so. Initially when we heard the news, we stepped outside and the sky looked absolutely crazy. No matter what direction you looked the weather was different. We couldn’t take our eyes off of it.
This picture was taken after I finally convinced Matt to drive me around so I could click away. While we were driving around, I was in awe at how quickly the weather can change. The clouds and sunset made for some beautiful colors, however, the feeling throughout town was very eerie. Fortunately, there was only minor wind damage.
Here are a couple other photos I captured:

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting the crew that makes up South Beat Music Texas, also known as “SBMT”. SBMT consists of six DJ’s from the Bay Area of Houston. They all DJ in different bars and clubs throughout Houston, anywhere from Midtown, to Galveston. They each bring a different style to the table, (no pun), offering a variety of vibes being brought to the clubs they claim.
After gaining some notoriety since the group first started back in 2011, they’ve now not only gained a huge fan base, booked Mardi Gras and SXSW, but they’ve also created an app, kind of like Pandora, to keep their fans connected and blasting their mixtapes any time, anywhere! The app is simply called “SBMT”, and any smart phone is available to download it, which you totally should! The app offers different mixtapes, for any kind of genre preference. “Fiesta Gigante” is the latin inspired mixtape, and my personal favorite, the “HTX Radio” is a mixtape filled with that H-town Rap us locals know and love. Guaranteed, you want to hear it, they’ve got it. These guys never disappoint.
If you’re ever in the Houston, Clear Lake, or Galveston area, look for them at Preamble Lounge & Crafthouse, Top Golf, Float Bar, Irish Cowboy and Cabo Clear Lake, just to name a few.
